Located at 139 Skiloft Road (SL-34) on Upper Shawneehaw ski slope at Beech Mountain. The house has an elevation of 5350 feet and boasts views of four mountain ranges into VA and NC. Watch skiers on the lifts go up to the top, and very soon see them ski or snowboard just a few feet from the deck of the house. Nine full length picture windows overlook the slopes and valley so if the deck is too cold, you can stay inside by the fire and not miss a minute of the fun. You can enjoy night skiing which is as much fun to do as it is to watch from the house.

When watching the fun becomes too much to handle, you can put on your skis or grab your snowboard, step out of the house, and you're on your way. Coming in after skiing is just as easy. Ride the quad highspeed lift to the top and ski right down to the house!

Cozy Round House

This house is a cozy retreat in a unique eight-sided round house. The construction features floor to ceiling picture windows, exposed beams, original burlap ceiling panels, and a large deck overlooking the ski slopes and the town of Beech Mountain, NC. After a great day on the slopes, or a round of golf, or a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, trout fishing, or a bike or hike on the many trails in the areas, or shopping at the local shops and markets, you will come back to a fully furnished home away from home. Light a fire in the winter or eat on the deck in the cool summer breezes (summer high temperature is around 74º). The fully equipped kitchen is ready to prepare your favorite meals and a full-sized gas grill awaits your "catch of the day" or best cut of meat.

The house is equipped with TV/DVDs in each bedroom, a TV with DVD player in the livingroom, and a stereo with CD and MP3 player. The laundry room is down the spiral stairs just off the lower foyer and has a stackable washer/dryer and a second full-size dryer for quick drying of those wet ski clothes. Each bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom also has twin bunk beds. (Please keep in mind that the bunkbed ladder has a weight limit of 110 pounds). The sofa is a queen sleeper, if needed. The hall bathroom is a full bath, and the master bath is a must to experience. The round soaker tub and separate shower are unique. The soaker tub has a built-in seat and is a great way to relieve any aches and pains from the day's activities.

The deck on the back of the house is complete with two sets of stairs and an elevated walkway providing easier access. The construction was designed and built by Ward and Son's, Inc.
